You are never a problem to be corrected.
Not your age. Not your weight. Not the way your face reflects the years you've lived. I don't do trends. I don't do generic. I design everything around you, to cocoon and support you as a whole woman: your skin, your confidence, your nervous system, your inner voice. Beauty is not the end goal, it is the vehicle.
This is self-care reclaimed as a radical act of self-love. When you fall in love with who you are, confidence stops being something you perform and becomes something you embody.
The journey
Four movements, across a year: Skin, makeup and coaching, woven together.
Each season building on the last, until your favourite self is simply who you are.
-
Appearance
You learn to see yourself with new eyes. The skin and makeup work is the entry point, but the real work underneath is reconnecting with the woman in the mirror.
- Session 1 · Favourite Self Audit
- Your identity baseline. What do you actually see when you look at yourself, versus who you are? This sets the foundation for everything.
- Session 2 · Appearance deep-dive
- How has your relationship with your reflection shifted in two months? What stories are still running? Body image lives in the nervous system, not just the mind.
-
Regulation
The surface layer is built, now we go into the body. How do you actually feel? Where are you dysregulated, and what does it quietly cost you?
- Session 3 · Nervous system baseline & your toolkit
- Your patterns, fight, flight, freeze, fawn. What dysregulates you, and what brings you back. We design your personal regulation toolkit, specific to your life, never generic.
- Session 4 · Regulation check-in & deepening
- You've been practising for six to eight weeks. What's landing? What's hard? We adjust, and go deeper into the somatic work.
-
Expression
Regulated enough to actually be seen. This is the confidence work, how you show up in your relationships, your work, your life. Not fake it till you make it; removing what's in the way.
- Session 5 · Expression mapping
- Who are you when you're not performing? What does authentic expression look like, for you specifically? We clear the path to it.
-
Sustain
You're not starting over every Monday anymore. You have tools, you have a relationship with yourself. Now we design the structure that makes this permanent.
- Session 6 · Self-care strategy design
- Your personal self-care architecture for life, built around your real week, your real capacity. You leave with a written strategy that's entirely yours.
- Closing · The ceremonial close
- A closing ritual woven into your final facial: reflection, integration, what's transformed, and where you go from here.
When you are fully at home in yourself, that is when you meet your Favourite Self.

Testimonials
“The relationship with Amélie grew and built more trust over time. The whole course really gives you your glow back and builds your confidence. I just wish it had happened earlier.”
I have transformed my mid-life look. My confidence is back. My routines are quick and effective. Can't wait to see what this Amélie does next.
Jamie When I first booked, my budget needed a pep talk. But wow, it's worth every penny. A total game changer.

Frequently asked questions
Is every session with Amélie?
Yes. I work alone, so any service you book through me will be with me personally.
Are prices GST included?
Yes, prices are GST included, unless otherwise specified.
I suffer from allergies, can I still book?
Yes, you can. At the beginning of your appointment, I will ask about any potential allergies. I'll do my absolute best to review products and ingredients carefully and use only what's safe for you. If you'd prefer to do a patch test first, send me an email via the contact form or text/DM on Instagram and we'll book a time for you to come in and do just that.
My products contain ingredients on your No-go list, do I need to throw them out?
No. Use them up and replace them with a clean beauty option when they're finished. Over-consumption is a huge environmental issue, so we can all do our bit to minimise it. That said, if you're going through perimenopause or hormone therapy, it's worth having a conversation with your GP about your concerns.
Is there a toilet I can use?
Yes, there's a customer toilet available.
What happens if I arrive more than 15 minutes late?
Please let me know via text as soon as you can, and please drive safe, don't text and drive. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after your appointment start time, I may need to cancel the service or, at my discretion, carry out what we can in the time remaining. If you're a mum of children under 10, let me know when you book. I know how hectic getting out the door can be and I do my best to avoid back-to-back appointments so nothing gets cut short for you.
Can Amélie cancel my appointment?
Yes. If something comes up on my end, I'll notify you in writing and provide a full refund of any amounts you've paid for that service, although in 5 years of business, this has never happened yet.
Can my baby or toddler come with me to my appointment?
The Cocoon is a space for you to fully switch off, so appointments are best enjoyed child-free. If that's tricky, reach out and we'll find a time that works.
How do I book?
Appointments can be booked online with at least 24 hours' notice and up to 3 months in advance.
Is a deposit required to secure my booking?
Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, paid by credit or debit card. The remaining balance is charged following your appointment.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments are made by credit or debit card via Stripe-supported platforms, or by a previously agreed arrangement.
Is my deposit refundable?
No. The 50% deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.
I need to cancel my appointment. What do I do?
Please contact me as soon as possible. Here's what applies depending on your timing: - 72 hours or more before your appointment: I'll do my best to reschedule you and transfer your deposit to the new booking. No refund of the deposit is available. - Within 72 hours of your appointment: The full price of the service is charged. No refund is available. - No-show: The full price of the service is charged. No refund is available. I'm human and I do my best to be accommodating where I can, but the earlier you reach out, the more options we have.
Why is the cancellation window 72 hours?
I'm a solopreneur and all services are by appointment only. 72 hours gives me a chance to reach out to clients on my waitlist to try to fill the gap left by a cancellation.
I need to reschedule. What do I do?
Life happens. Please give me at least 72 hours' notice to reschedule. You can reschedule up to 2 times, after which the booking will be cancelled with no refund of the deposit. Rescheduled bookings are subject to availability. If you need to reschedule because you can't find childcare but your child is well, send me a text and I'll see how I can help. I know how hard it is as a mum to carve out time for yourself.
What if Amélie needs to reschedule?
If I need to move your appointment to another date and that date doesn't work for you, you can cancel in writing and I'll provide a full refund of any amounts paid. If you accept the new date, no refund applies.
I booked a virtual session. What's the refund policy?
Virtual bookings are non-refundable once the session has started.
What should I bring to my first skincare routine design session?
Bring your existing skincare. The confirmation email will remind you, but bringing what you currently use allows me to see whether it matches your skin's actual needs after I've done your skin analysis. It also gives me a sense of the textures you like, how much time you allocate to your routine, and where things might be working against you without you knowing.
Can I bring my own skincare products?
Yes, you can. I'll take photos/write the name down of your products and flag anything in your follow-up if need be and I'll suggest clean beauty alternatives for when you run out and need to repurchase.
My skincare contains ingredients on your No-go list, can I still bring it?
Yes. In your follow-up, I'll flag any ingredients worth considering and suggest alternatives when it's time to repurchase.
Is the table heated?
Yes. There's a heating blanket on the table and I warm it to a medium setting before each session. Once you're settled, I'll check that you're comfortable. If you feel cold or too warm at any point, please let me know, you can't fully relax if your body temperature isn't right, and I promise I won't be offended.
Is the room heated?
Yes. There's a heater in the room. I feel the cold a lot, so it'll usually be warm in there.
Is there a changing room?
Yes. I provide a wrap-around spa towel with snaps and slippers. Everything is washed after each client.
Is it really worth it?
Every client I've worked with has told me it was worth the investment and that they wished they'd had something like this when they first started experimenting with beauty. I'll let them speak for themselves.
What is confidence coaching and how is it different from therapy?
Confidence coaching is forward-focused. We're not diagnosing or unpacking your past for the sake of it, we're looking at where you are right now, what's in the way, and what needs to shift for you to move forward feeling more like yourself. I'm not a therapist and I don't work as one. What I do is blend somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and practical coaching tools to help you reconnect with who you actually are underneath the performance and the pressure.
What does a confidence coaching session actually look like?
It depends on where you are and what's alive for you. Some sessions are conversational. Some include somatic or breath-based elements. Some involve practical tools you can take away and use the same day. I always follow what's most useful for you, not a fixed script.
Do I need any experience with somatic work?
None at all. I'll guide you through everything. All you need to do is show up.
Is this available in-person or online?
Both. In-person sessions take place at The Cocoon in Hurdon, New Plymouth. Online sessions are available via video call.
How do online sessions work?
Once you book, you'll receive a confirmation with everything you need to prepare, including the video call link. Sessions run the same way as in-person coaching sessions, the only difference is you're in your own space, which a lot of clients actually find easier. For the makeup sessions, we meet at least twice, so that you can have ordered the products and then I visually guide you through it. For skin analysis, you send me photos prior to your session so that I can conduct a skin analysis based on your photos.
Do I need any special equipment?
No. Just a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a space where you feel comfortable and won't be interrupted.
What if the connection drops during our session?
It happens sometimes. If we lose connection, I'll reach out via text or email immediately and we'll either reconnect or arrange a time to pick up where we left off.
Are online sessions recorded?
Only group sessions where a replay was promised will be recorded. Where sessions are recorded, I'll share a link to the recording via a website-based platform. I do my best to keep recordings available for an extended period, but I can't guarantee availability indefinitely, as recordings may be removed by the platform or by me at any time. Please also note that online recordings are not private or secure, and by participating you acknowledge that recordings may potentially be accessed by third parties.
Where is The Cocoon?
In Hurdon, New Plymouth. The exact address is sent to you upon booking.
What should I expect when I arrive?
I'll be ready for you. Come in, take a breath, and let the day wait outside for a bit. If it's your first visit, give yourself an extra few minutes to find parking and get settled.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is parking available on the street. Parking is free and there are always spaces available.
Is the space accessible?
Please see the wheelchair accessibility question in the General section above. If you have any access requirements, reach out before booking so we can figure out the best way to make it work for you.
